How to Manage Advertising for Hundreds of Thousands of Car Parts Without Having a Heart Attack
22. 5. 2025

Running an e-shop with a few dozen products? No problem. Running an e-shop with a few hundred thousand products? That’s a whole different ball game.
And it’s exactly in that league where we play with our client Autodíly Vojkov on their Czech and Slovak e-shops – a car parts retailer supplying both markets with everything from bumpers to wiper blades. Our job as their agency is to ensure their products are as visible as possible, without losing track of the strategy – for them or for us.
The Challenge: Advertise everything, but do it smart The product range includes hundreds of thousands of items – from popular light bulbs to parts you’ve probably never even heard of. And since the inventory constantly changes, we rely on a strong and well-structured feed.
But not all products are suitable for advertising. For instance, items with very low prices that wouldn’t generate effective campaign results are excluded from ads. This helps us focus only on products that have enough value to drive performance while minimizing budget waste.
A high-quality feed is the foundation of success, allowing us to work with thousands of products. These campaigns are supplemented by search ads to cover relevant queries.
Remarketing on Sklik We also focus on remarketing, which is a key tool for keeping customer interest alive. Using Sklik remarketing, we target users who have visited the client’s site but didn’t make a purchase. This tactic allows us to re-engage interested users and bring them back with relevant offers that have a higher chance of converting.
UX & SEO: Cart Optimization and Increasing Order Value In terms of SEO and UX, we improved the shopping cart by implementing features that suggest additional products the customer might be interested in. The goal is to increase the average order value by encouraging customers to buy complementary or related items. This not only improved the user experience but also contributed to higher revenue.
Reporting in Looker Studio: Because Nobody Likes Excel Sheets One of our key tools for keeping everything under control is Looker Studio. We’ve created custom reports for the client that:
Clearly show campaign performance in CZ and SK
Break down results by brand and category
Enable trend tracking over time
No more unnecessary account switching or endless Excel sheets. Everything important is in one clear, accessible place.
Automated Weekly Report Every Monday, we send the client an automated email report with a detailed overview of unsold products. This gives them a clear view of what’s not selling and may need attention – like lowering the price, updating the product description, or adjusting the campaigns.
We also send a weekly business overview, providing:
A summary of all sales
Sales trend data in percentages
For both the Czech and Slovak markets
This overview helps the client respond quickly to changes in performance, while we use the insights to optimize campaigns and plan strategy for the weeks ahead.
Agile Approach and Seasonal Campaign Adjustments We manage campaigns with agility, meaning we adjust strategies regularly based on seasonal trends. This flexibility allows us to respond effectively to changes in demand – whether it's seasonal fluctuations or special promotions. As a result, we can maximize return on investment for the client’s ad spend.
🇨🇿🇸🇰 Two Markets, Two Strategies Even though the Czech Republic and Slovakia are neighbors, we’ve learned that one approach doesn’t work for both.
In the Czech market, there’s stronger competition and more price-sensitive customers. Here, we focus on precision targeting and performance tuning.
In Slovakia, there’s more room for brand building and experimentation – both in campaigns and in new formats.
Results? They Speak for Themselves Thanks to our campaign setup, automations, and regular reporting, we’re able to:
Maintain long-term control over ROAS
Ensure return on ad spend stays strong
Give the client confidence that their budget is being used where it matters most
What We’ve Learned Managing large e-shops is a marathon. It’s not about big moves, but the small optimizations that make the real difference. The key takeaways for us:
Patience
Consistency
Flexibility
Open communication with the client
And of course, a team that understands not just the numbers, but also the technical setup and the complexities of product feeds.
